My sister Kelli asked me to help her out with graduation gifts for my niece Marli’s sorority sisters. Of course this request came only one week before graduation which meant we would be throwing something together. The girls had taken some really nice group photos and Kelli wanted to somehow use one of the photos along with all of their names, kind of like the Family Posters that I do. At first we talked about somehow putting the names on the photo but I couldn’t figure out how to make it work. I told her I would have to think about it.

Literally (Chris Traeger) the moment I hung up the phone I had a bright idea. I bet you could see the light bulb glowing above my head. I called her back and told her to buy the long, narrow frames that have holes for two photos. I would put a group photo in the one hole and then make up a small version of a Family Poster for the other hole.

Thanks to the wonder of Facebook I was able to quickly find and download the photo I wanted to use. I then just had to come up with the design which was a little harder than I thought. I was stumped for some reason. I had my breakthrough when my computer decided to crash (I need a new one so bad). Of course I hadn’t saved my work so I had to start over, a clean slate if you will. That was just what I needed, for some reason it just all started coming together.

I then just had to print seven copies of both the photo and my design and pop them in the frames and voila! Graduation gifts.

Isn’t Kelli lucky she has such a creative sister?
