Hello Kriso – Raggy Crazy

September 1st, 2013

Welcome to “Hello Kriso”, a new little corner of the “Hey Kerri P” blogosphere that will keep you up to date on all of the crafty goings on down south in the Newman household.

Kris has entered into a region of the craft world that still scares the dickens out of me… sewing. She asked for and received a sewing machine from our parents several years ago for Christmas. Since that time she has been slowly experimenting and teaching herself how to sew. Mom helped out in the beginning but her sewing skills are kind of limited. She can hem and “take in” a pair of jeans like nobody’s business, but that’s about it. I’m by no means making fun of her skills because I received a sewing machine several years ago for Christmas as well and still haven’t even figured out how to thread the darn thing.

Well, as you know, we went and kidnapped my sister Kris’ kids back in June and while she was childless she went a little “Raggy Crazy”. If you remember from my “The Greatest Baby Shower On Earth” post, she whipped up the cutest little circus themed burp rags for our niece Morgan and enjoyed every minute of it. So much so that she came up with several more sets of raggies during her month of quiet and solitude.

She made this cute little parrot set that she once again gave to Morgan for baby Sawyer…

along with this little “clown nose” set…

this little Yoda set is going to one of her good friends that is in the process of decorating a couple of “space rooms” for her adorable little boys…

and then she made this little flamingo set…

and these “mustaches” to have on hand as gifts.

Last week I sent out an emergency text asking for some raggies for the baby shower I attended yesterday and just in the nick of time I got a package in the mail with a little “vegetable set”. It had the cutest little felt carrot and peas and because I literally picked it up on the way to the shower I didn’t snap a picture of them … darn it.

If anybody out there is looking for a cute, homemade baby gift drop me a line at kerrip21@gmail.com or leave a comment and I can hook you up. Oh and stay tuned because that little box of goodies from down south also contained the brand new kitchen and utility room curtains that she whipped up for me. I just need to hunt down some curtain rods and get my design assistant to hang them for me since power tools are another region of the craft world I have only dabbled in. Power tools, however, are much less intimidating than that sewing machine gathering dust on my studio shelf.
