I hate August… and Gremlins

Monday, October 3rd, 2016

Do you ever feel like there are forces out in the world conspiring against you? Messing stuff up every which way you turn. Maybe it’s Gremlins. Like the pointy eared, green, scaly, don’t-feed-after-midnight kind. If that’s the case and Gremlins actually do exist they were out in full force during the month of August. Which is why I made that bold statement in the above headline. And it’s also why I’m currently sitting here still looking at the above pile of junk. It’s fun junk of course, but it’s been sitting in the middle of my living room for going on two weeks.

March Madness

Sunday, April 10th, 2016

Two months. I made it two months. It’s a record actually. I kept a New Year’s Resolution for two months. Technically a little over two months if you’re keeping track. You may remember that resolution, the one that said I was going to blog at least once a week from here on out. Well it lasted two months and then I descended into “March Madness”.

Fall Comes To Willow Station…. Again

Wednesday, September 16th, 2015

I think I first smelled Fall in the air three weeks ago. We were experiencing a week of unseasonably cool weather for Nebraska in August and I remember walking out the back door of the YNT (that would be the newspaper that I work at) and stopping in the middle of the parking lot and just taking in a deep breath. There it was. Fall. It was in the air. That cold, crisp smell tinged with a bit of smoke. The smoke was surely the result of someone grilling steaks for a summer cookout but I decided to pretend it was someone in the neighborhood firing up their fireplace.

Hello Spring Prep

Thursday, April 9th, 2015

It may appear that I have either A: Abandoned craft projects and this blog all together or B: Am still on the road headed home from Texas. Neither is actually true, but the first one seems kind of true. The truth is I was in “prep mode”. And “prep mode” is a stressful mode to be in therefore blogging once again fell by the wayside.

You see our first Spring sale at Willow Station (the awesome little seasonal pop up shop I’m involved in) was held two weeks ago so my every waking hour was spent painting, glueing and panicing.

Harvest Market Days

Thursday, November 27th, 2014

Hey there it’s me, still alive a kickin’ but just barely. The last two months have been a bit crazy and don’t look to slow down anytime soon, especially since “The Holiday Season” has officially hit. I say it’s officially “The Holiday Season” because I’m writing this post on Thanksgiving Eve, is that a thing? Thanksgiving Eve? I say it is and I guess it doesn’t really matter since it will be Thanksgiving Day by the time I’m done writing. And since in my mind Thanksgiving still falls under the “Fall” category I can sneak this post in under the wire about our Harvest Market Days Sale.

If you remember from one of my last posts (a long, long time ago) I promised to give you all a peek inside my new endeavor, Willow Station.
