MacKenzie & Zach

Wedding season has officially arrived and my first job of the “season” is in the books. I had the honor of working on a couple of projects for Miss MacKenzie Dick, now Richert.

Taylor & Chase – Programs

Sunday, June 22nd, 2014

A couple of stacks of wedding programs finished out my “Perfect Storm of Crafting” week. Well, actually it was 11 stacks with 20 programs in each stack, if you do the math that makes around 225 programs. They were for the wedding of Taylor Janzen and Chase Chrisman. I had already helped Taylor out with the wedding invitations a few months earlier and eventually received an email asking if I would be able to do the wedding programs as well.

I appear to be sticking with the musical theme in this week’s posts. I also appear to still be digging through my archives hoping to catch up. This particular post marked a milestone for me. My first out-of-state customer! The majority of my projects have come about due to word of mouth in my little neck of the woods but this project was an honest to goodness job due to my blog.

LeVina Close Up

My final wedding project of the summer was a recipe poster for Caitlin and Daniel’s wedding. Caitlin and her mom Judy planned on serving sour cream cookies at the wedding, correction, LaVina’s Sour Cream Cookies.

My Mobile Sweat Shop, With A Side Of Sweet Corn

Program with scissors

It was time once again to put the Sweat Shop into action. Caitlin and Daniel’s wedding was a little over a week away and I had agreed to make their wedding programs along with their wedding invitations (which I posted about earlier, remember the oak tree?). Luckily, they, like Troy and Sara, wanted fan programs, after all, we were heading into August and the ceremony would be outdoors. “Are fan programs a problem?” they wondered? “Heck no, I’m an old pro at making fan programs.” I said. Of course at the time I made that statement I had no idea how to make a fan program but when assembly day arrived I was in fact an “old pro”. Of course the project didn’t come together without a few hiccups, because what would a Kerri P. project be without a few hiccups?

Sara & Troy: Boards & Banner

Sunday, September 8th, 2013

As promised in my last post, we’re moving on to the boards & banner portion of Sara & Troy’s wedding paraphernalia. Sara’s soon-to-be mother-in-law Joni had asked me in our very first wedding email if I could make some chalkboards for the wedding reception. I said “Sure.”, never having really done any chalkboards before. Lucky for all involved, I picked up a few chalkboard jobs before the big day so I was able to get in a bit of practice.

Sara & Troy – Fan Programs

1 Program

Now that Sara and Troy are closing in on their two month anniversary, I have decided it’s finally time to post a few of my contributions to their happy day. Along with designing and producing their wedding invitations they had asked me to do their wedding programs. Already during our first meeting Sara knew that she wanted her programs to be fan programs, with good reason, the wedding would be in my famously unairconditioned church sanctuary on July 13! Which of course proved to be one of the hottest weekends of the summer.
